Since rising to fame as Charlotte Hinchcliffe on hit E4 series The Inbetweeners, Emily Atack, 30, has been open about her weight and her attitude towards her body.
The star, who jumped to fame in 2008, once revealed that she’d been asked to lose weight for Hollywood roles but since finishing as runner-up to Harry Redknapp on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Emily is rightfully confident in her stunning appearance.
As part of the jungle series, Emily was required to eat rice and beans for three weeks, as were the other contestants, and during the show, the star lost half a stone.
Speaking about her dramatic weight loss at the time, Emily gushed: “I’m feeling good and healthy. I’ve had a good detox.”
More recently, the 30 year old, who has appeared on television shows including The Keith Lemon Sketch Show and Dancing On Ice, confidently revealed the result of a health kick after losing over a stone in three months.
The star’s latest body-confident selfies whilst in isolation come after Emily hit back at a troll who told her to stop eating so many treats in isolation.
The Inbetweeners actress fought her corner, replying: “I’ve lost a stone in the last 3 months because I’m cooking like this and eating cleaner. So you are incorrect.”
Here’s a look at the beautiful star’s long advocacy of body positivity and her weight loss journey…
Emily opens up on feeling judged
Opening up to OK! Magazine towards the end of 2018, Emily said: “My whole life I’ve been judged for how I look.
“Which is part and parcel of being in the public eye, playing sexy roles and posing for lad’s mags, but I want people to like me for my personality and brain.
“It’s not all about having the perfect body, perfect hair, perfect smile.”
Since leaving the jungle, Emily was also on the receiving end of negativity and revealed that one cruel body-shamer shockingly told her “starvation suits you”.
Emily also said that one nasty person told her to stop eating a burger because they approved of her jungle weight loss.
Taking to social media, she wrote: “Some bloke just said to me in a restaurant whilst I was eating my dinner.. “No, stop. Starvation suits you.”
“What in the….!? I would throw my burg at you but that would be a massive waste love.”
Emily’s I’m A Celebrity weight loss
Emily revealed to her fans that I’m A Celebrity had changed her attitude towards eating. Taking to Instagram, the star wrote: “Morning mud crabs, just catching up on everything. I am back in London!
“Can’t believe the amount of articles & comments about my bod. Some good, some bad. I will never EVER use a Slimming App ever again.
“We are all different shapes & sizes. We are all unique.”
In the I’m A Celebrity Coming Out reunion show, she said: “It’s the weirdest, most wonderful holiday I’ve ever been on. I will definitely miss the jungle.
“I feel like it’s changed my life forever. I’m so proud of myself.”
Speaking to OK! magazine at the time about how much weight she had lost, to which she replied: “Not much, about half a stone.
“I’m feeling good and healthy, though, I’ve had a good detox.”
Emily hits back at fat-shaming troll
At the start of 2019, I’m A Celebrity star Emily hit back at cruel trolls who cruelly labelled her as “fat” at the Brit Awards.
The 30 year old wrote back: “To all those lovely comments lots of you say to me, thank you from the bottom of my heart. To those who continue to call me fat… have a wonderful evening and then go and f*** yourself. All the best. X”
Emily says she is heaviest she’s ever been but is happier than ever
In summer of 2019, Emily told Closer that she’d “never weighed 11st, but [was] doing everything [she’d] always wanted to do.”
She continued: “I’ve realised that I’m probably the biggest I’ve ever been. I weigh 11st. My life is the best it’s ever been, and I get more compliments now than I ever have before.
“I look back at photographs of when I was slimmer, looking a bit gaunt, and I was definitely unhappier.”
The star added at the time that although she receives mean comments online about her weight, she doesn’t let it get her down.
She explained: “I’m way more accepting of my body now.”
Emily speaks honestly about her fluctuating weight
Last year, actress Emily told The Sara Cox show: “We’ve been brought up in a society where a size four and size six girls are how you see all the lead actresses. Most of them are that size.
“When they see someone who is a normal size, I’m a ten/12/sometimes a 14 if I want to be comfy…
“I am just a normal size. But in other people’s eyes I’m bigger.”
Hitting back at photoshop accusations
Emily was forced to deny photoshopping an Instagram picture after a fan said there’s “no need for this”.
The star shared a picture of herself right before she went on air for an episode of I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp with co-hosts Joel Dommett and Adam Thomas.
Posing in front of the jungle, the actress can be seen dressed in a stunning black dress with a plunging neckline.
Completing the look with a pair of beige heeled boots, she captioned it: “Staring into the distance at one of the boys eating my breakfast…. It’s extra camp time!” followed by a koala emoji.
While most of her followers on Instagram couldn’t help but comment on how beautiful she looked, one person claimed there was something a little odd about the photo as they commented: “Sorry I like u but why photoshop this. Unr beautiful as u r on TV no need 4 this”. [sic]
Emily, who recently showed off her incredible figure in a yellow bikini, was quick to fire back at them and defend herself against unwarranted accusations. She wrote: “i’m replying to this because it’s frustrating and I don’t want others to think it.” [sic]
She added: “I haven’t photoshopped it in the slightest. That’s the truth.”
Emily’s isolation weight loss
Since being in isolation the star said she has lost one stone after cooking healthy meals.
Speaking out about her changing diet and body, she said: “I’ve lost a stone in the last 3 months because I’m cooking like this and eating cleaner.”
Emily had previously revealed how she was coping in lockdown, opening up on being single while staying at home.
“It has been three weeks since I have physically touched another human being. I am isolating alone in the London flat I recently moved into…,” she told Grazia.
“Like so many, I have been in shock. I’ve woken up in the middle of the night with crushing anxiety like I’ve never experienced before.
“My internal monologue is already knackered.”
