A Lincoln-based mental health and substance abuse services company is expanding its reach to Hamilton County with a new office opening in Aurora.
Co-owners Rhiannon Woodruff and Brad Shay say there is a growing need for mental health therapy due to a number of factors creating stress for individuals, families, farmers, veterans and virtually anyone impacted by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“The need has always been there, but I think it’s just been called to light with the pandemic,” said Shay, who has 29 years of counseling experience. “Through this pandemic people are staying home more so they are noticing each other more and have to deal with themselves more. It has disrupted a lot of people’s routine so there has been an increase in anxiety and depression because of the total change in everything we knew.”
