“Code Blue” is a documentary film that demonstrates how lifestyle medicine can prevent, treat and even reverse chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, cancer, stroke, dementia and multiple sclerosis (MS). (Source: Code Blue Trailer)
The Rotary Club of St. Thomas East ECO will show this documentary in four parts.
Part 1 (approximately 20 minutes) chronicles the film’s producer, Dr. Saray Stancic M. D., as she struggles to overcome multiple sclerosis (MS) and the beginning of her journey of discovery into the effects of diet on heart disease and other chronic illness. “The No. 1 cause of death and the No. 1 cause of disability in the United States is our diet!” said Dr. Michael Greger M.D. who was interviewed in the film.
The United States spent 3 trillion dollars last year on sick care, 86 percent of which was spent on chronic diseases that can often be treated, prevented or even reversed by making lifestyle changes. Eighty percent of these chronic diseases do not need to exist.
