Pre-lockdown, Senior Chair Fitness classes were held by local fitness expert Sharon Morrison at the Valley Center Library. Morrison has resumed the classes online, with the first class being offered free of charge.
“It’s essentially strength and conditioning exercises, and stretches utilizing a chair to support and assist in various movements,” said Morrison.
“This program is a fabulous way to build and maintain balance, flexibility, strength– and an added benefit–the camaraderie of new friends working out together,” she explained.
With current distancing protocols in place, Morrison is continuing to offer these 45-minute classes each Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. via Zoom, an online conferencing app. “This way, they can see me and I can see them, as we do easy movement and stretching, fun cardio, strength and stretching moves, in the comfort of our own homes, Morrison continued.
“If participants are not familiar with Zoom, I’m happy to walk them through. I’m looking forward to keeping fit together with Senior Chair Fitness,” Morrison added.
